DC Arbor Issues
About:Trees located in urban environments face a greater number of threats than trees found in natural settings. They are regularly knocked into by automobile doors, harmed during road and building construction, over pruned or removed to accommodate power lines, constricted by inadequate sized tree boxes and much more. Casey Trees believes that planting new trees is only beneficial if existing and new trees are cared for and protected. To draw attention to the threats - both man and nature inflicted - that trees must endure, Casey Trees has created a series of Arbor Issues that that explain the problem and offer practical recommendations to address them. We encourage you to be an advocate for your urban forest and speak to your community leaders and elected officials about incorporating our recommendations into their Citywide and neighborhood plans.
