Growing a Healthier D.C.
The Growing a Healthier D.C. series is a product of conversations with a panel of national and local experts convened in cooperation with District agencies, organizations and foundations. The panel examined how green infrastructure could be used to maximize social, economic and ecological benefits in the District of Columbia.
Presented here are nine issue briefs that focus on incorporating the greenest aspects of our urban environment - trees, vegetation and natural areas - to serve vital functions as D.C. grows and redevelops. From the overarching vision of a green capital city, to neighborhood-scale plans, to the design of individual sites, these briefs examine the building blocks for a greener, healthier and more livable urban environment.
