On March 25, 2010, Casey Trees released the Second Annual Tree Report Card, the only independent evaluation of the District's trees and tree canopy, and the only assessment of its kind in the Nation.

Urban Tree Canopy (UTC) Goal

Satellite imagery helps us measure changes in the District's tree canopy cover over time.

Understanding the full extent of our current tree canopy and estimating the number of possible planting spaces has allowed Casey Trees to set an ambitious but attainable UTC Goal of 40 percent by 2035.
