Planting a tree is a special and lasting way to celebrate and honor the lives and accomplishments of loved ones or to commemorate a birth, anniversary or other special occasion.
Our Tree Dedication program offers individuals and groups a unique way to add to the beauty of the District while paying tribute to the people, pets and events that have touched and shaped their lives.
Tree Dedications may be planted in either a public or private dedication event. All Tree Dedications are included on the Casey Trees Map and the designated recipient receives a commemorative card.
Trees are not available for planting during the summer.
Public Tree Dedication

Each spring and fall, Casey Trees plants approximately 400 trees across the District through our flagship Community Tree Planting program.
Tree Dedications can be incorporated into most public Community Tree Planting events. The sponsoring individual or group may select the tree species to plant from a list of trees intended for the location and assist with its planting with the exception of those at schools. Participating in the planting is optional.
Suggested donation is $250 per tree.

Private Tree Dedication

Individuals or groups may request a tree be planted at a location of their choosing during the spring or fall. If the desired planting location is on public property, we will determine if permission can be secured, and if it cannot, recommend alternative locations.
Requesting individuals and groups can participate in the planting or request Casey Trees’ staff install the tree on their behalf.
Suggested donation is $400 per tree.
